Making frozen hash browns has become easy since the arrival of air fryers. We can use air fryers to cook frozen hash browns within 20 minutes but if we use other types of kitchen appliances, it will take more than 45 minutes. The majority of people avoid cooking hash browns at home due to the time-consuming and effort-requiring recipe.
But if you follow the recipe I have discovered, you will be able to make it within a few minutes without exerting extra effort. The recipe I am going to discuss is followed by all the restaurants in the city so if you are concerned about the flavor, you will enjoy the exact taste that restaurants’ hash browns possess. Come with me to see how we can make hash browns with the help of an air fryer.

Hash Browns In Air Fryer
Equipment
- Air Fryer
- Plate
- Spoon
- Bowl
Ingredients
- 16 oz Pack of hash brownsÂ
- 2 tbsp Olive oilÂ
- ½ tsp PepperÂ
- ½ tsp SaltÂ
- 1 tsp Garlic powderÂ
Instructions
- The most significant part that we often neglect is preheating the air fryer to ensure even cooking. If you regularly use an air fryer, turn it on for 2 minutes before initiating the cooking process to preheat it. Set a target temperature of 375 degrees F and leave it for at least 2 minutes until it is ready to cook the hash browns.
- While the air fryer is preheating, we can do other tasks, such as preparing the hash browns. Take a medium-sized bowl and uncover the pack of frozen hash browns. Add hash browns to the bowl and then drizzle olive oil with the help of a tablespoon; however, if you prefer oils other than olive, you can use avocado oil.
- Majority of the people confuse the amount of oil but they are unfamiliar with the fact that air fryers consume less oil. So if you find yourself uncertain, drizzle 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive or avocado oil on the hash browns. Gather all the seasoning including salt, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika.
- Coat oil on the hash browns and then add seasoning. Use a spoon to mix them until you find that seasonings have coated on the hash browns. It will take a minute and all the seasonings will be mixed with the hash browns.
- Check if the air fryer is ready and then take its basket out. Use tongs to place the coated hash browns onto the basket and then cook for 15 minutes. Usually, hash browns require 18 minutes but it depends upon the type of air fryer you use; therefore; I advise people to be careful after 15 minutes and check them if they are prepared because overcooking for only 1 extra minute can ruin the hash browns.
- After every 2 to 4 minutes, take the basket out and shake all the hash browns. Use tongs to flip the sides and if you find that some browns are prepared while others need time then take the cooked ones out of the basket and fry the rest of the hash browns. Transfer hash browns to a plate and serve them with hot eggs, savory, and bacon.

How to Cook Frozen Hash Browns in an Air Fryer?
There is no big difference between the latest and old air fryers, both are designed to fry at low temperatures and consume less oil. However, the old air fryers cannot reach up to 250 degrees F which can cause problems. In such conditions, you should cook hash browns for a further 5 to 10 minutes and check if they are prepared.
