Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 Package gnocchi
  • 1 tbsp Avocado oil spray
  • Dash garlic salt

Instructions

  • The first step is to gather all the ingredients I mentioned above. Feel free to experiment with any type of gnocchi in the air fryer. You can go for any gnocchi such as regular gnocchi (gluten-free), cauliflower gnocchi, or sweet potato gnocchi.
In this recipe, I have used avocado oil due to its high smoke point, providing optimal cooking conditions. However, if you do not have avocado oil in your home, you can opt for olive oil or any other available oil. Now, when it comes to seasoning it also depends on your choice.
You can try seasoning gnocchi with garlic salt, Italian seasoning, pepper, granulated garlic, paprika, etc. Furthermore, you can also add freshly grated parmesan if you are craving cheesy flavor. However, if you are adhering to a dairy-free or vegan diet, nutritional yeast serves as an excellent alternative.
  • The next step is to arrange the gnocchi in the air fryer basket, sprinkle them with either olive or avocado oil, and finally season them with your favorite seasoning or salt. Now, you need to preheat your air fryer to 400 °F (200°C).
Air fry the gnocchi for about 10-12 minutes until they become crispy and golden brown. In addition, depending on your air fryer model, consider flipping the gnocchi halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping. Lastly, after cooking, serve them with your favorite sauce.

Notes

Pro Tips for Crispy Air Fryer Gnocchi
Preheating your air fryer is essential. This step guarantees that gnocchi are air-fried evenly and attain that extra crispy texture. Remember to preheat your air fryer before cooking to avoid potential increases in cooking time.Give the basket a gentle shake every 4 minutes. This helps ensure that all gnocchi are evenly air-fried, preventing any side from becoming crispier or browner than the others. You must include the olive oil (avocado oil). It is crucial for achieving that perfect crispiness with the gnocchi. Note that skipping the oil part might result in the gnocchi turning a darker shade of brown and lacking the desired golden crispiness.

Storage and Reheating Instructions

If you want the best experience, I recommend eating them right after cooking! However, if you have leftovers or wish to store them, you can place them in an air-tight container and store them in the fridge for up to four days.

Additionally, if you want to reheat the gnocchi, put them in the air fryer basket. Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 4-6 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Alternatively, you can also reheat the gnocchi in the oven or on the stovetop.

Making gnocchi in an air fryer offers a delightful twist on traditional cooking methods. Try this recipe to enjoy gnocchi that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside without much effort.
