Ever since I was introduced to Chinese takeaways, prawns have become one of my favorites. Crunchy, delicious, healthy, and lighter, a prawn toast made in an air fryer is the best thing for a quick snack. This low-effort recipe wouldn’t take more than twenty minutes from your busy schedule and you can keep them in the fridge for around three days.
Perfect on their own, prawn toasts can be served with almost anything. So, if you are wondering how I make my quick and easy prawn toast air fryer, just dive right in.

Prawn Toast In Air Fryer
Equipment
- Food processor
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 280 g Peeled raw prawns
- 2 Crushed garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp  Soy sauce I prefer light soy sauce with low sodium content
- ¼ tsp Ginger powder
- ¼ tsp White pepper powder
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1 Egg white
- 2 Spring onions They should be thinly sliced
You need to prepare the following ingredients for sesame toast
- 4 Slices of bread Preferably brioche bread
- ¼ White sesame seeds
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Blend your prawns in a food processor to make a rough paste. Add all the other ingredients mentioned above and mix everything well.
- Now, slice off the bread crust if you like it this way, and spread each slice with this paste.
- Once done, dip the slices in sesame seeds.
- Now, preheat the air fryer at 200 degrees Celsius for at least a minute. Spray the top of each slice with oil spray and place these toasts in the air fryer basket. You should only place 1 to 3 slices in each batch.
- Cook your sandwiches for five minutes in the air fryer.
What If I Do Not Have an Air Fryer?
If you do not have an air fryer, try making them in a frying pan with the same instructions. All you need to do is heat up the pan on medium heat and add oil. When the oil is gently bubbling, cook around 1 to 3 toasts for one to two minutes, flip them, and cook them for another minute.
You can also prepare these toasts in a grill. Just preheat the grill and lightly toast the bread until it is crispy (do not wait for it to change color). Add the prawn mix and sesame seed on the slices, put them on the baking sheet, and grill them for around three to five minutes until the toasts are perfectly cooked.

Serving Options
Well, prawn toast made in an air fryer is a quick snack, pretty good and delicious on its own. However, if you still want to make them interesting, pairing them with a dip might sound right. Just make a sweet chili sauce by mixing chili oil, sugar, soy sauce, and sesame seeds, and serve it.
Can You Reheat the Prawn Toast?
Let’s say you have made a big batch of prawn toasts and now have to deal with leftovers. The best way is to keep them in the refrigerator in an air-tight container, and they are good to go for around two days. Reheat them in the air fryer for three to four minutes in a preheated air fryer at 180 degrees Celsius.
You can also store them in a freezer. For this, you have to keep them in an aluminum foil or a freezer-safe container and reheat them in an air fryer for eight minutes at 180 degrees Celsius whenever you want. However, the best thing is that you make a new and fresh batch each time, as it hardly takes 20 minutes at most.
Try It Already!
