Oregano, parsley and thyme (optional)
Instructions
Pat dry cod filets with paper towels.
Then you have to season them.
For seasoning, you have to use salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder on them.
Paprika is necessary as it gives a smoky flavor to the cod.
If you want you can also add oregano, parsley and thyme. They are optional.
Now season them well and make sure to rub the spices all over the cod.
Now you have to coat them.
To coat cod filet what you have to do is to dust the fish with all-purpose flour.
Make sure to dust it slightly.
Then whisk eggs.
Now you have to put the dipped filets in breadcrumbs and coat the cod filets gently.
Press the breadcrumbs into the cod filet.
This is a three-step breading method that you have to complete carefully to keep the exterior crunchy and the interior moist and juicy.
Now you have to air fry the breaded cod.
To do that, you have to preheat the air fryer up to
200° Celsius or 400° Fahrenheit
.
Now place the breaded cod filet in the air fryer basket.
Make sure not to overlap them and place them in a single layer.
They should not touch each other.
Now spray the filets with oil.
Depending upon the thickness of the filets you have to cook them for 8 to 10 minutes.
After 5 minutes, flip the filets and keep an eye on the filets so that they do not get overcooked.
Wait until they become crispy and golden brown from the outside.
Check for the internal temperature of cod filets and when their internal temperature reaches 145° Fahrenheit, they are ready to eat.
