We will start with preparing potatoes so take a bunch of large potatoes and then use a fork to prick them. Carefully prick all the potatoes and set them aside then pour oil in a bowl. I use avocado oil but if you have vegetable or olive oil, you can use it.
Add black pepper and salt to the oil and then coat the mixture on the potatoes. Once you are done coating the potatoes with the oil, place them aside and then turn the air fryer on. Normally, people use an air fryer without preheating it but if you want to make potatoes more yummy, crispy, and ensure even cooking then preheat the air fryer.
Leave the air fryer for 3 to 5 minutes at 400 degrees F and then place potatoes onto its basket. Make sure that all the potatoes are separate and do not fill the basket with an abundance of potatoes if you want to ensure even cooking. You need to cook potatoes for 40 to 50 minutes.
When it comes to cooking potatoes for 40 to 50 minutes, people do not check the air fryer before the mentioned duration. It is possible that the potatoes you are using are cooked within 30 minutes or take 50 minutes so check from time to time and then shake the basket to ensure that all the potatoes are evenly cooked.
When you find the potatoes are changing color to brown, transfer them to a plate and leave for a minute. Use a tea towel to cut the potatoes in the middle lengthwise to insert the material. Now use a fork to fluff up the inside of potatoes and then add material.
The last ingredient left on the table is the salted butter so add it in the middle of the potatoes and serve them. Jacket potatoes are eaten hot; therefore, do not cool them down. Use a sauce combination, for example, I use ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise to eat jacket potatoes but you can change them based on your preference.
