Try a Variety of Seasonings
The best part about air fryer asparagus is that it can be seasoned with almost everything. Here are some of my favorite seasoning options you might like trying.
- Add a hint of red pepper flakes with grated parmesan, butter, and olive oil to make spicy asparagus.
- Add ½ tsp of Italian seasoning to the already prepared mix to enjoy subtle Italian-flavored asparagus.
- You might like tossing the asparagus with balsamic vinegar and parmesan.
- While seasoning your asparagus, add soy sauce and salt to taste.
- Add crumbled cooked bacon in the air fryer along with the asparagus to get bacon-flavored asparagus.
What to Serve Air Fryer Asparagus with?
There are so many servings you can try with these air fryer asparagus. Here are some of my favorite combinations.
- Serving air fryer asparagus with seafood like air fryer salmon, garlic shrimp, broiled salmon, or baked salmon bites.
- Pairing them with meats like grilled chicken thighs or crusted pork.
- Air fryer asparagus goes well with baked chicken alfredo, sun-dried tomato pasta, or even basic garlic pasta.
- You can also serve air fryer asparagus with dips like Greek yogurt or ranch.
You can also repurpose the leftover air fryer asparagus for roasted veggie salad, scrambled egg toasted, burgers, salads, pasta, or even as a side dish for steak meat.
What to do with the Leftovers?
Well, whether you have leftover asparagus or want to prepare them in batches for meal prep just refrigerate the leftover asparagus in an airtight container. They are safe to be stored for up to 5 days. Whenever you want to use them, reheat the asparagus in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for some time, and serve them.
Can I Store It For a Longer Period?
Yes, of course; you can always store the seasoned asparagus in an airtight container or zip-lock bag in the freezer. On average, they are completely safe to be consumed for up to 3 months or 90 days. Afterward, thoroughly defrost them and throw them in the air fryer for 5 to 7 minutes to get the perfect crispy taste.
Though you can store them in the fridge, I would recommend making a fresh batch each time, as it hardly takes around 1 minute.
Can I Prepare Asparagus Ahead of Time?
Yes, definitely; you can cut and season the asparagus ahead of time. What I like to do is prepare the cut and seasoned asparagus one day in advance and put them in the fridge. And whenever I have to serve them with a bigger meal, just cook them in the air fryer for 5 to 7 minutes.
Try it Already!
Air fryer asparagus is a versatile combo for different kinds of pasta, burgers, dips, and raw veggies. I have been making them forever, and each time, spicing it with different seasonings works wonders. What’s best is that you only have to invest ten minutes for prep and cooking.
