Some recipes leave a long-lasting impression on the taste buds as they help us make meals incredibly delicious. A few days ago, I tried to cook battered fish by following an old simple recipe and I was not expecting good results but when I took the first bite, it opened my eyes and made me wonder why I did not make battered fish before with this recipe. The way we cook matters and we ignore the significance of kitchen appliances and utensils.
The only thing I customized while making battered fish was using an air fryer and it made my dinner 10 times more delicious. There are various ways to cook battered fish but you cannot make it as delicious as what restaurants serve until you follow a special recipe and use an air fryer. Today, I am going to disclose that special recipe and explain how we can make our battered fish more scrumptious by using an air fryer.

Battered Fish In Air Fryer
Equipment
- Air Fryer
- Paper towel
- 3 Bowels
- Tongs
- Plate
- Fork
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp PaprikaÂ
- 1/2 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tbsp Garlic powderÂ
- 1/2 tbsp SaltÂ
- Cooking oil as per desired
- 1 EggÂ
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbsÂ
- 1/4 tbsp Black pepper
- Tartar sauce per taste
- Lemon wedges per taste
Instructions
- Take a large bowl to mix the ingredients and add garlic powder, flour, paprika, salt and black pepper. Mix all these ingredients for 2 to 3 minutes until you find that they are properly infused and get another bowl to beat the egg. Crack an egg into a small bowl and use a fork to beat the egg or if you have a whisk, it can reduce the required effort for beating the egg.
- Our first bowl of seasonings and flour is ready and the second bowl of the beaten egg is on the table. Now take another bowl and uncover the pack of panko breadcrumbs then pour into the bowl. Place all the bowls on the table and set fish fillets near them.
- It is possible that the fish's upper skin has moisture so use a paper towel to dry all the fillets. Take each fillet and dip it into the mixture of flour and seasonings then to the egg and in the last, coat breadcrumbs on it. Some people mix all the bowls but it is not a good strategy and ruins the recipe so avoid such mistakes and dip each fillet one by one.
- Our filets are ready to fry in the air fryer but to make sure even cooking, we need to spray oil on the fillets. Set the oily fillets on the table and turn the air fryer to preheat it for 2 to 3 minutes at 400 degrees F. The purpose of preheating is to make the air fryer ready for fish fillets.
- Place 2 to 3 fillets of fish in the air fryer basket and fry for 10 minutes. Check them from time to time and fill the sides with the help of tongs to ensure even cooking and then use a fork to check if they are properly cooked. In case you find that they still need time then do not fry for more than a further 2 minutes.
- Our battered fish is ready, so take a plate and place all the fillets onto it. The majority of the people like to eat battered fish with ketchup but I prefer tartar sauce and lemon wedges for serving. Eat fish as soon as possible because it is more tasty when hot.
