Chicken Sausages In Air Fryer
Equipment
- Air Fryer
- Tongs
- Plate
Ingredients
- 4 Chicken sausageÂ
- 1 Olive oil spray
Instructions
- People complain that homemade chicken sausage is not as tasty as what restaurants serve, that's why they do not prefer cooking sausage at home. It occurs because you do not advance forward without preheating the air fryer which is an essential part of cooking. Preheating is significant because it makes the fryer ready to cook the chicken and ensures even cooking so leave the air fryer on for 2 to 3 minutes at 375 degrees F.
- While the air fryer is preheating we can do other tasks, such as preparing the ingredients and placing kitchen appliances on the table. Making chicken sausage at home takes longer because the majority of people do not prepare utensils and ingredients. On the other hand, professional chefs advise us to prepare utensils and ingredients before initiating the cooking process so we have 2 minutes to set all the utensils and ingredients on the table.
- Normally, people use frozen chicken but when it comes to cooking chicken sausage using an air fryer, we should use fresh chicken. Use a fork to prick the chicken sausages so all the moisture inside the meat comes out and then leave sausages until they are dried. Use oil spray to apply a thin layer of oil on the chicken sausages.
- We have prepared the ingredients and our air fryer is ready to cook the sausages. So take its basket out and carefully place each sausage on the basket in a way that one does not touch the other. Avoid overcrowding the basket if you want to make chicken sausages yummy and crispy.
- Frying chicken sausage can take 12 to 15 minutes depending upon the type of air fryer you use. In case you fry at the lower flame, it will take more but will make chicken sausages more flavorful. Check chicken sausages from time to time and flip sides using tongs when you find a side is getting brown.
- Check the internal temperature after 12 minutes and if it is 165 degrees F or more, take the sausages out of the basket and place them on a plate. Take two buns and cut each then place chicken sausage inside. Use your favorite sauces to eat yummy chicken sausage buns.

How Long to Cook Chicken Sausage in an Air Fryer?
Cooking chicken sausage is a very simple and effortless task that does not require a list of utensils and one can make it within only 15 minutes. There are various factors involved when it comes to cooking chicken sausage such as the type of air fryer you use and the temperature you prefer to cook. If you cook at 375 degrees F, it will take only 12 minutes and the rest of the 3 minutes are required for preparing utensils and ingredients.
I have been teaching cooking for years in an institute where hundreds of people come to learn recipes to cook like a professional chef. I always tell them that the difference between a chef and a normal cook is not the recipe but how he uses the appliance and selects ingredients. All the other factors such as the quality of ingredients and temperature are secondary factors but the primary factors are choosing an appliance suitable for the recipe and picking up the right ingredients.
Therefore, I always advise my pupils to cook meals using an appliance that suits their recipe. For example, an air fryer is the best kitchen appliance for making chicken sausages. It consumes less oil, preserves nutrients and in the end, you get a yummy deal.
