Cubed Potatoes In Air Fryer
Equipment
- Air Fryer
- Air fryer liner
Ingredients
- 2 cups cubed Potatoes
- 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tbsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1/4 tbsp black pepper
- 1/4 tbsp chili powder
Instructions
- First, take a big bowl and toss the diced potatoes in it with olive oil.
- Season the potatoes with salt, chili powder, pepper, and dried parsley. Use a spoon to move around the potatoes in order to make sure that each piece is coated with the seasoning.
- Now, transfer the seasoned potatoes to the air fryer basket and cook them for 17 to 20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Shake the air fryer basket halfway through this time. After this time, your potatoes should be crispy from the outside and tender from the inside.
- Finally, transfer them to the serving plate and garnish with cheese and garlic oil.
Notes
- Please note that not all air fryers are the same, which means you may have to adjust the heat and time, depending on your air fryer model. I have a medium-sized air fryer and 17 to 20 minutes is the perfect time for me to get the right crisp level.
- Do not overfill the air fryer with potatoes, or you will be left with undercooked and mushy products. Always cook potatoes in a single layer within the air fryer, and work in batches to get the perfect texture.
- Moreover, measure the oil carefully while seasoning the potatoes. Too much oil would get the potatoes soggy and the oil may also settle on the bottom of the air fryer basket. Usually, I do not recommend more than ½ tsp olive oil or any other neutral oil.
- Invest in a good-quality air fryer basket liner to prevent the oil from settling down at the bottom. It will definitely reduce the cleaning time afterward.

How to Get the Potatoes Extra Crispy?
Here are some best practices you can adopt to get the potatoes extra crispy.
- Always cut the potatoes in uniform cubed pieces, as it helps with even cooking and makes sure all the pieces have the desired crispiness.
- Preheat the air fryer before you add the seasoned potatoes. It helps initiate the cooking process and helps with the texture.
- As discussed above, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in such a way that there is space for the convection to do its work.
- A little bit of oil is essential for air frying, contrary to the public opinion. Before seasoning them, just toss the potatoes in 1/s tsp to get the perfect crispiness.
- Shake the air fryer basket halfway through the process. It exposes all the pieces to the hot air and promotes the golden-brown color.

What to Do with the Leftovers?
Well, usually it does not happen; but if you are left with the leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days. Once you want to consume them, reheat them in the air fryer for 3 to 5 minutes, and get the crispy potatoes. You can also freeze the cut and seasoned potatoes in the freezer for up to three months.
