Pancakes In Air Fryer

Servings: 4 People
Calories: 103kcal

Equipment

  • An air fryer
  • Silicone pancake molds
  • Cooking spray.
  • Silicone-tipped tongs
  • Scooper

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 Large eggs You may adjust the quantity of the eggs, depending on their size.
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar preferably brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • First, take a mixing bowl and combine eggs, butter, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to it. Stir it well to make sure everything is well combined.
  • Next, sift all the dry ingredients into the bowl, including baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar, and flour. Gently fold all the ingredients into the bowl in a way that you get a smooth consistency batter. Let it rest for about 20 minutes.
  • Now that you have the batter, take the silicone molds and spray them with cooking oil or cake release. You need to make sure that they are well-greased. Once the molds are greased, add one scoop of the batter to each mold.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 330 degrees Fahrenheit for about 3 to 5 minutes. Next, place each silicone mold into the air fryer basket and cook them for 5 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 180 degrees Celsius. You need the top to be slightly golden.
  • Once the top is cooked enough, flip the pancakes and cook them for another 4 minutes or until they are golden.
  • Repeat the step until you have used all the batter. Grease the molds each time to make sure the batter does not stick to them.
  • Transfer the pancakes to the serving place and top them off with fresh berries, powdered sugar, and maple syrup. Enjoy this breakfast treat with your family.

Notes

  • Use buttermilk, as it helps the pancakes become light and super fluffy. This is because buttermilk reacts with the baking soda and creates air bubbles to make the batter light. You can also use yogurt, lemon, and sour cream in the recipe for this fluffy texture.
  • If you have a medium-sized air fryer, please note that it can only handle four pancakes at a time. So, it is always better to cook them in batches. Do not stack the pancakes in or out of the air fryer; instead, spread them on the wire rack to avoid them getting soggy.
  • Always use a lighter hand when folding the dry ingredients. Do not overmix the batter, or it will make the mixture lumpy.
  • The second batch always takes less time, as the air fryer is already heated. Follow the color for a time estimate.
  • Not all air fryers are the same. So, always consider adjusting the cooking time and temperature depending on your air fryer model.

Can You Freeze Air Fryer Pancakes?

Yes, of course; you can freeze these air fryer pancakes for up to three months. Just use a parchment paper to separate each one of them and pack them in an airtight container. To reheat them, just put them in the air fryer for about 15 to 20 seconds whenever you wish to eat them.

What is the Right Temperature to Cook Pancakes in the Air Fryer?

Well, the temperature varies depending on the air fryer model you are using. Ideally, I suggest everyone to cook their pancakes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, as it gives them the perfect golden brown top and bottom.

What to Serve These Pancakes with?

Well, there are tons of topping options for pancakes. One of my favorite combinations is fresh vanilla whipped cream, walnuts, blueberries, and a lot of maple syrup for a weekend breakfast treat. You can also serve them with a lemon juice and sugar combination, Nutella with fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, sausages, or peanut butter with dry fruits.

If you haven’t already, use this recipe as your guide to make the classic, easy-to-prepare, and light pancakes in the air fryer. Serve them with a combination of sweet and savory items, and enjoy them for breakfast, brunch, or just as a treat. Ditch the traditional way and turn to the air fryer, you won’t be disappointed.
