There are various ways to cook smoked haddock but I prefer an air fryer because it does not create a mess and one can effortlessly finish the cooking process within 20 minutes. When I tell people that they can cook smoked haddock within only 20 minutes, they do not believe it but as a matter of fact, an air fryer is an efficient kitchen appliance that reduces the required effort and fry things quicker than other appliances.
Another reason why I prefer air fryers is because all the restaurants in the city make smoked haddock in the air fryer. It ensures even cooking and makes the fish more flavorful consuming less oil at the lower flame. An air fryer can liberate you from several other tasks as well as make the cuisine more yummy so come with me to see how we can cook smoked haddock in an air fryer.

- Bowl
- Plate
- Brush
- Fork
Ingredients
- 4 Haddock filletsÂ
- ½ cup Panko bread crumbsÂ
- ½ cup Parmesan cheeseÂ
- 1 tbsp Dried parsleyÂ
- Salt as per taste
- 1-2 tbsp Olive oilÂ
- 1-2 tbsp MayonnaiseÂ
- ½ tsp Garlic powderÂ
- 2 tbsp Dried drillÂ
- Paper desired amount
- Lemon wedges desired amount
- ½ tsp PaprikaÂ
Instructions
- Majority of the people start cooking without focusing on the preheating step. It is crucial because preheating prepares the air fryer and ensures even cooking as well as preheating doubles the performance of an air fryer. Take your air fryer out of the kitchen carcass and set it on the table, then turn it on and leave it for 2 minutes at 400 degrees F.
- Uncover the pack of fillets and place them on the table. Use a paper towel to pat on it and then rub the towel to dry the moisture from the skin. If you are using frozen fillets, leave them for 5 minutes in the open air, then dry them with the help of a towel and use them for cooking.
- While the air fryer is preheating and the fillets are drying, we can accomplish other tasks such as making a mixture. Take a medium size bowl and add panko crumbs then mix them with grated parmesan cheese. Mix them for a moment and add parsley, dill, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
- Use a spoon to mix all these ingredients and check if the fillets are properly dried. Use a brush to apply a thin layer of mayonnaise on the fillets. The majority of people skip the mayonnaise coating and apply the breadcrumb mixture but breadcrumbs do not adhere to the skin of the fish without mayonnaise.
- Dip the coated fillets in the mixture of breadcrumbs one by one and place them on a tray or plate. When you are done with dipping, drizzle a low amount of oil on the fillets or you can use butter. Check if the air fryer is ready to cook the haddock fillets.
- Take the air fryer basket out, place the fillet onto the tray and close it. You need to fry haddock fillets for 8 minutes at 400 degrees F. It is possible that the fillets take more than 8 minutes so check them from time to time and use tongs to flip sides.
- When you find that fillets are changing color to brown, use tongs to take them out of the air fryer. Our smoked haddock fillets are ready within 20 minutes. Add your favorite sauces to the plate and start eating as soon as possible because smoked haddock is more tasty when hot.

What Temperature is Best for Air Frying Smoked Haddock?
When it comes to temperature, the majority of people like to smoke haddock at high temperatures. However, if we cook fillets at a lower flame, they will be more crispy and evenly cooked compared to fillets cooked at high temperatures. In my opinion, the best temperature for making haddock in an air fryer is 400 degrees F.
