Bread Pudding In Air Fryer
Equipment
- An air fryer
- Parchment paper (Preferably with holes you can substitute it with silicone liners)
- Electric beater (Optional)
- Whisker
- Mixing bowls
- Measuring spoons/ bowls
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cup Vanilla milk You can use regular whole milk or almond milk
- 3 tbsp Salted Butter  It should be melted
- ½ cup Dark brown sugar It is better to buy the freshly packed sugar from the store
- 1 Large egg
- ½ cup Chopped walnuts
- â…“ cup Milk chocolate chips
- 5-6 Slices of toasted white bread  It should be cubed
- Cooking oil spray
Instructions
- Take a large mixing bowl and whisk milk, butter, sugar, and egg to it. You may use an electric beater for this step to get a uniform mixture.
- Next, add the white bread cubes, chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts to another bowl.
- Pour the wet ingredients in the first bowl over the bread mixture and stir it well using a whisker. Let it rest aside for around 5 minutes.
- In the meantime, preheat your air fryer to 330 degrees Fahrenheit and spray it with the cooking spray. Line it with parchment paper.
- Now that the air fryer is prepared, transfer the bread mixture to the air fryer and bake it for around 12 to 15 minutes or until you see the top getting golden brown.
- You can check whether it’s cooked by inserting a toothpick or knife and if it comes clean, the pudding is ready. If it is not yet ready, cook it for another two to three minutes, but not more than that, or else it will dry out from inside.
- Transfer the pudding to a serving plate and top it off with your favorite ingredients. Enjoy.
Notes
- If you have a gluten allergy, try making this recipe with gluten-free bread pieces. Also, you can make this pudding with any type of bread (french, white, wholegrain, etc) as long as it is not savory.
- Always preheat the air fryer and set it to bake function to get the perfect bread base. Preheating the appliance will give you a perfectly crispy and tender balance from the inside.
- To reheat the pudding, use the microwave. Just put it in the oven for 1 to 2 minutes and you have it ready to be consumed.
- If you do not have brown sugar available, substitute it with the regular sugar.
- If you are using regular cow milk for the recipe instead of almond milk, always add ¼ cup of brown sugar to it.

What Toppings Can I Use with Bread Pudding?
Well, the bread pudding is a perfect dish on its own. But, you can always enhance its flavors using toppings like ice cream, honey, maple syrup, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and dark chocolate. It also goes well with a cup of coffee or tea.
Which Bread is Best for Bread Pudding?
For the recipe, I would say the sturdier the bread is, the better. I always go for thick breads like brioche, french bread, or regular white bread. Overall, any bread is okay as long as it is not savory.
What to Do with the Leftovers?
You can always store the leftover bread pudding in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. All you need to do is put it in an airtight container and whenever you are ready, reheat it in the microwave for about a minute or two.
If you prefer to freeze it for a longer time, wrap it in a plastic sheet or aluminum foil and it is safe to consume for up to 3 or 4 months. However, it is extremely important to defrost it by removing it from the freezer, let it rest overnight, and microwave it for about a minute or two.
Final Thoughts
Do not get intimidated by the word traditional, as it is pretty simple and straightforward. All you need to do is mix the wet and dry ingredients and throw them in the air fryer. Have fun with different toppings, and you will love it.
